Rescue Horse Sponsor – $50.00 a month
Rescue Horse sponsors will help provide the necessary resources to help house, feed and care for horses that have been abused and / or abandoned by their previous owners. Sometimes these are world class athletes that used to win great speed races but have suffered an injury. Other times, they are old broken down horses that are no longer able to compete in shows but have the right to finish out their days in peace. Either way, it is our pleasure to share our home with these forgotten animals in efforts to save them from eventual horse slaughter.
Caring for rescue horses usually requires immediate and pricey medical attention. Abused horses not only suffer emotional trauma, most have physical injuries that require medical care. Equine medicine is expensive and while most horse owners carry medical insurance, obviously abandoned and abused horses do not. Sponsorship dollars would go to providing medical care for these horses.
Housing and feeding rescue horses are ongoing, lifetime expenses that will never go away. Obviously, many of these horses can go out to pasture, but some with emotional or recovering medical trauma will require stalling. Feed expenses vary depending on the age and condition of the horse, but sponsorship dollars will go to help cover some of these expenses as well as they are great.
Although we at Remington Acres feel it is our responsibility to share our resources to help care for abused and abandoned horses, we could care for so many more with the help of sponsorship dollars.
Education Sponsor – $50.00 a month
Education sponsors will be helping to provide a “back to nature” educational and entertainment experience for the youth of our area ages eight and up. Horseback riding is a wholesome educational value that gives children an opportunity to be outside enjoying the fresh air while getting some much needed exercise. Necessities in today’s world as American children are heavier and less active than they ever have been. We plan on hosting four weeks of camp with each week culminating in a “Mini Horse Show” for the campers to share their new talents with family and friends. Each day of camp, campers will have the opportunity to both ride and learn to care for horses through a fully interactive educational experience. Sponsorship are being sought to help us pay for a few different costs. Namely, we are hoping to host a scholarship program to allow one or more camp position to go free for a disadvantaged camper each week of camp. We want to ensure everyone has an opportunity to learn about how wonderful and rewarding the interaction with horses.
Can be and hope by being able to offer a camp scholarship that we may reach those who had only dreamed of riding horses in the past.
In addition to camp scholarships, we are delighted to be in the process of putting together permanent educational sessions on horses and the care of horses. These sessions will include feed information, breed, color and markings information, horse husbandry and like educational opportunities for the young horse enthusiast. By making permanent sessions, we will not only be able to provide a better education at our horse camp, but also for the dozens of other adults and children that visit our ranch daily through school field trips, birthday parties, pony club meetings, and girl scout badge missions.
Education sponsors will truly see a great return on their value as this year we extend our marketing to all the area schools. It is our desire to grow upon our scholarship program allowing more and more scholarship spots with each year. Through sponsorships and hopefully grant monies, we can continue to educate those who have not had the resources to encourage horse riding and education.
Sponsor a special Horse – $150.00 a month
• Always wanted a horse but don’t have the space, time or money to own one out right?
• Just are not ready to make such a big commitment, your schedule is unpredictable, just like to have horsey time ever once in a while?
• We often recommend to anxious horse buyers to “try before you buy”.
• Why not sponsor a horse before adopting one to see if you really do have that special bond with a horse…
We strive to form forever lasting bonds. Most of our horses come out of bad situation and have been moved around constantly from the time they are just a few months old, dragged away from family and friends over and over again and we feel it is our responsibility to insure that they will be in permanent relationships without having to move again. None of our horses are listed as adoptable because we strive to be a sanctuary and provide a lasting and consistent home for them where they can feel safe. However, we also do realize that horses like humans need the special bond and interaction with a partner or mate and that most of them thrive in having a job and responsibility
This is our reasoning behind this particular sponsorship. For us the ideal situation would be a horse finds you and you both form a very special bond. You walk into the pasture and the horse comes running to you whinnying all the way, you can tell how excited he or she is to see you and vice versa. You can sponsor this horse and it would be like you very own personal horse. You can come groom, handle and ride your horse whenever and how ever long you want, get your own tack or use ours. We would include you in trimming, worming, vaccination activities, as well as vet visits and most of all we will care for him or her if you cannot be there. This gives you and the horse the unique opportunity to get to know each other and make sure it is the most perfect fit for both of you!
